About BestBusinessLoans

BestBusinessLoans is an independent UK editorial review site for business loans. We research lenders from published rates, the FCA and PRA registers, Companies House and Trustpilot data, publish dated methodology-led reviews, and help SMBs choose finance that fits the way their business actually runs.

What we do

We write three things and one thing only. Single-lender reviews where we apply criteria consistently and document what we found. Listicles ("best X for Y") that compare named lenders side by side. And "what is" pillar pages where we explain how a product works, what it costs, and where the catches are. Every page carries the date it was reviewed, the author, and the sources we used.

Editorial reviews and application matching are kept separate by team: the same writer never decides on a lender placement. Our /get-quotes/ form matches you to the UK broker panel most likely to approve your specific profile; what you read in a review is not influenced by what would pay best on application.

Who we serve

UK limited companies, limited liability partnerships and partnerships of four or more, looking for £25,000 to £500,000 of business finance. Our audience is established businesses doing research before they apply: they want to know who the lender actually is, what the rate range really looks like, what the decline reasons tend to be, and whether a sector specialist exists for their trade.

We work mainly with corporates. Our lender panel is tuned to corporate borrowers (Ltd, LLP, partnerships of four or more). If you are a sole trader, our editorial reviews can still help you understand a lender, but you should apply direct to the named lender or via a regulated consumer-credit broker. Sole-trader-friendly lenders we review (where editorial coverage is useful as research) include Capify, 365 Business Finance, Liberis, YouLend and Got Capital, all of which take direct applications.

What makes us different

Most UK business loan review sites run a panel-matching quote form on every page. The reviews are formulaic, undated, and rarely refreshed. We do the opposite. Each review is written by a named author, dated to the day it was last reviewed, and updated when rates, eligibility or product features change. We publish our methodology, our sources, and our funding model in plain English. If we do not have a usable answer to a question, we say so.

Who runs it

BestBusinessLoans is owned and edited by Oliver Mackman, Director of Best Business Loans Ltd (Companies House number 16833937). Oliver leads the review programme, sets the methodology, and signs off every review before publication. Read his full editorial bio or our methodology.

BestBusinessLoans is editorially independent. Our funding disclosure explains how the editorial and commercial sides are separated internally and which links earn commission.
