Are you a lender, broker or introducer?

BestBusinessLoans is an introducer. We are not a direct lender, we do not underwrite credit, and we do not hold borrower funds. We compare UK SMB lenders editorially and route applicants to those whose published criteria fit their declared profile. The credit decision and the customer relationship sit with the lender, not with us.
The regulatory position. Some UK SMB lending falls within FCA-regulated consumer credit (sole-trader and small partnership finance under £25,000); most SMB lending to limited companies sits outside FCA scope. Where we route applicants to FCA-regulated activity, we do so as an unauthorised introducer making a connection rather than giving regulated advice. We do not give regulated financial advice. We do not arrange contractually binding terms. Borrowers should seek independent advice for material credit decisions.
What we publish editorially. Reviews of UK SMB lenders against a documented methodology, with named author Oliver Mackman of Best Business Loans Ltd (Companies House number 16833937). Comparison and listicle pages. Decline-route guides. Use-case pages. The editorial policy sets out how we maintain review independence even where we receive commercial referral fees.
What we earn. Where we route a borrower to a lender and a transaction completes, we may receive a referral fee from the lender. This is disclosed on the how we are funded page and on each review where it applies. The referral fee does not change the rate or terms the borrower is offered: it is a marketing cost paid by the lender out of the lender's own margin.
